Bazaar Bohemian

Originally from California, Vanessa wright describes herself as a natural free spirit who moved from place to place around America. Adorned in brightly coloured patterns and dripping with jewels from  her brand Bazaar Bohemian, her appearance is a true reflection of her engaging and provoking spirit. Alongside bazaar bohemian, which is inspired by the trinkets and treasures you find whilst investigating the shops and bazaars (hence the name) of the world, she is a woman with her hands in many pies and is also a stylist and the front woman for Project Tribe.

Bazaar bohemian attracts an eclectic clientele, from people who want a few special pieces to embed themselves into the bohemian lifestyle, to those who are true life freestylers at heart and find it leads to a pathway of freedom. None the less, it is not about the clothes for Vanessa, it is about connecting with people and bringing out free spirits. This is instantaneously apparent through the bazaar bohemian Instagram, which is full of vivid, fresh images that connote a wurlwind of different emotions and celebrates different elements of our lives.  Vanessa uses her Instagram to promote her brand, but to also express herself and to communicate with others who like herself, want to celebrate the lives they lead through what they wear and the communities they live in. She calls this Spreading Positive love energy.

Despite running a successful clothing brand and without a doubt adding some zest to many a wardrobe; Vanessa felt that her purpose had not been met. “ Sure, it was great that bazaar bohemian was doing well and everyone was dressing cute. But for me that had never been the reason I started it. I wanted to do something that had a purpose, I wanted to make a difference and I wasn’t doing that”. Finding the opportunity to embark on something deeper and using her ever growing fame on Instagram, Vanessa formed Project tribe. Noticing that her brand was uniting and inspiring women through the messages she was receiving from women,  she promotes positive energy via instagam by getting women all over the world,  to be photo’d wearing the project tribe crown and to send a message to the rest of the women around the world. Project Tribe is not about making money or about selling anything it is simply about spreading peace and positive love energy.  The women are not restricted to what their message holds, they simply answer one thing-   “ If you had to send an inspirational message to women around the world, what would it be? “  It can be empowering, engaging, thought provoking or awakening, but at the upmost must be positive and uniting.  Vanessas own message to bring people to together is constantly changing but the jist of it is to be magical! “We are so many things, we are hot messes, we are perfect, we are glam and we are poor, so we should embrace it but never forget that we all have our own life and light which makes us different and this is how and why the world shines.”

Vanessa is endearing and refreshing and not only is she living her dream, but she is helping other women along the way. She has beliefs that as a gender, woman can really change the world without competing with one another but simply by cultivating and loving one another. “People look at the world on a big scale, but if you really tighten it down and focus on yourself, your own energy and your own respect, actions and enlightening outlook are really important. When you get up in the morning you are responsible for your energy and if that energy brushes off on another person positively then you are doing just a little thing to improve someone else’s day. These little shifts all work and algorate together and can slowly change the world.

Project tribe has taken an aspect of our lives that is causing disconnection and manipulated it to give it a positive purpose rather than a damaging one. Through Instagram and simply liking pictures of one another’s, Vanessa was able to connect and form a friendship with Luna who she co directs the Project tribe movement with. Luna is just as infectious as Vanessa, they look as though they could be sisters and they could most definitely share a wardrobe! Myself and Vanessa are perfect examples that you are able to establish authentic relationships, inspire one another and share, all whilst being on opposite ends of the world. What started out as just “liking” pics has turned into a movement we put together to Inspire and connect women. We have created A Tribe where people express their uniqueness and sense of community in an agglomerate of tasks, all for a common goal:  to care for one another.”

With her clothing brand and her worldwide movement for women, Vanessa is a frequent traveller. Seeking out ethnic fair trade goods to sell to her bohemian followers in crooks and crannies of the world, she has visited the majority of what the world has to offer. She encourages everyone and anyone to travel and to seek out happiness and their true spirituality by immersing themselves in different cultures, claiming she found hers in the Central American country of Honduras. Exclaiming that it’s untouched and unbelievable beauty along with it’s rich culture and warm people is where she felt the most connected and spiritually present.

Before ending the interview, I am given the opportunity to wear the project tribe crown and spread my own message to other women around the world. What was my message? You’ll just have to check their Instagram, @projecttribe to find out!
