Gengher - Powder

I was introduced to Gengher about 6 months ago, a friend played me their song "Fill my Gums With Blood" and i was blown away by the guitar rifts and melodic genius. However, a few months down the line, i completely forgot what the funkier alt-j esk band were even called, till now. 

Gengher released their debut single "Powder" on the 9th and, my god is it good! If your keen on the likes of royal blood and The Orwells then i seriously suggest you give these a listen. Almost reminiscent of the likes of Modest mouse, Radiohead-esque guitars and vocals on the verses allows ‘Powder’  to sum up the 90’s for us in one cool sweep.

For anybody who missed the indie-rock scene of the early 90’s and doesn’t want to believe that all it was was the battle of Britpop, Gengahr have produced a one-stop history lesson. Undoubtledly, the band know what they're doing and who they're listeners are and it’s relieving to know that, somewhere in the tiedye wash of Shoegaze influences, there is still an oasis of Baggy hope.
