Changing Game- NYFW 2015 Trends
It's that time of year again when we really must replenish our wardrobes. A glance at new york fashion week is all it takes to see that hems are longer, trousers are wider, and necklines are higher.
Designers have opted for looser fitting clothes, from wrapped trousers as seen by Rosie Assoulin (below), to the humble soft trench coat. Proving that this season, its better to leave a trail of luxe fabric behind you as you exit the room.
Not only this, but the reign of the skinny jean is over, conquered by the oh so sassy flare. With the likes of DKNY showcasing wide cut denim alongside wide leather trousers, the cuts of legwear are very generous. Luxe tailored and square culottes were also popular trouser shapes and generally accompanied a cosy turtle neck, another trend which was spotted all over the catwalk. An apparent staple piece according to Peter Som, Prabal Gurung, Edun, Opening Ceremony and Rodarte.
The engulfment of the female form doesn't stop there. The winter coat holding the main focus of most designers, we were attacked with almost floor length hems, cape like sleeves and over sized collars, all in some form of textured story, from blinding Metallica to crackled leathers.
Whether you are scepticle or not of these trends, there's one thing we know for sure- they'll hide a multiple of xmas sins!
